Despite having learnt how to sail only 6 weeks prior, Joanna and her friend boarded an 18 foot catamaran in Port Townsend, Washington with a mind to make it 750 miles to Ketchikan, Alaska. Joanna Ludlow is an alumnus of the University of British Columbia, and employee at UBC’s Enrolment Services. She is also currently pursuing a Masters in Conflict Analysis at Royal Roads University.
