The Privilege of Campus Involvement | Jennine Punzalan | TEDxTerryTalks

In this talk, Jennine Punzalan will argue that the difficulties of time management and the dynamics of student involvement are heavily based on one’s social class. This creates a perpetual cycle where students with lower incomes, who work average part-time jobs, are not recognized due to “unimpressive profiles”, and students who can afford to have the time, are recognized. It’s an aspect of campus involvement that is prevalent, but is not being talked about.

Jennine Punzalan is a student of International Relations and French Honours at the University of British Columbia
