I SEE TONIGHT

What happens after twilight
when smog conceals the stars
when instead of eyes shutting to darkness
they open to Black-
Do the stars reclaim their glorious glow?
Does the Black shatter into a thousand colours?
It must do something,
Nothing can’t be nothing forever.
There must be something
past the end of this story,
An epi-epilogue, a post-conclusion,
one star.
One star, dim, dilating
its microjoule
Threatening to disappear
Without reappearance
In the Black, there must be
one star
Struggling to survive
It will, it must
