Inspired by our recent radio diary, we’ve decided to make this a BARtalk. Is there a mental health crisis on universities campuses? All the reports we’ve seen shows that more students are using counseling, more students are reporting serious depression, and more students are seriously thinking about suicide. Why? What are the unique challenges facing students? What are psychiatrists, health authorities, policy makers, and universities doing about it? Which resources are available, and which aren’t?
