Day 16-19: Lunging

So, I’m probably somewhere around here:

This leg of the cruise is the most popular one among everyone on board – the science personnel take on the officers and crew in a lunging competition. Why lunging? Well, you try taking long, unaided steps on a moving surface, chump. The competition follows a round-robin double elimination style tournament. The scoring rubric focuses primarily on the form and execution of the lunge, while a little something special is left aside for creative-lunge flare (anything goes – topical lunging t-shirts, rocket boots, musical accompaniment).

Needless to say, I’m pretty freaking good. The 8 years of badminton I played in my teens have finally proven themselves useful in my mid-20’s. Last year I won honorable mention with this beaut (scored to Duj Sandale):
