Vancouver Hosts Pangea Day

Pangea Day, organized by T.E.D. Conferences, (see www.pangeaday.org) arrives on May 10, 2008 with a live 4-hour broadcast from Los Angeles, Rio, London, Cairo, Kigali, Mumbai, bringing the world together through the medium of film. With 24 Nokia competition-winning short films, music performances, and comments from speakers like CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Queen Noor from Jordan, and Bob Geldof, the event will be rebroadcast live in 1000 other global locations.

You can head on down to the Granville 7 Cinemas (855 Granville) in Vancouver or find your way to the Rio on Broadway (1660 E. Broadway) in East Van to catch the festivities this Saturday, May 10th. The live broadcast will begin at 10.30am with an opening ceremony (doors open 9.45). These events are free public events, open to all. Check out the Pangea Day Vancouver website for information on how to pick up your tickets. Bring a donation for the World Food Programme.
