Things that make me sad…
What’s wrong with the originals?
So I’ve noticed a fairly embedded cultural infatuation with makeovers. People, websites, logos, companies, national leadership… In any case, here are two popular children’s figures “made over”. Sad part is, I’m not even making it up. Click on the image for the article.
Like some things in the world, I can only sigh.

Is it a struggle to fill our emptyness with nothing by the name make overs?
It is so not that serious. You are looking to deep into something so simple. They are upgrades because with everything comes change. There was nothing at all wrong with the first versions but like the children of today things will and most change. The thing you need to focus on is not that their looks changed but that their message does not.
It’s not that sad, they are just following the current economical views
but why do they have to be makeover into glam? jajajajja dora was a fatty belly out and the one has crystal earrings jajajajajajajajajaj is she gonna explorer the blood crystals?….strawberry shortcake is a mermaid now? jajajajjaja they should at least take into account the concept? and the concept is not only to be the color of a strawberry.
i think that this is very cool
its looks to me that the change there showing is simply growing up .
‘So I’ve noticed a fairly embedded cultural infatuation with makeovers. People, websites, logos, companies, national leadership…’
First of all, a comment like this seems blatantly racist, in regards to national leadership. Second of all, was there really ANY particular reason to add that in there? Seriously. I know Obama’s popularity has gone down, and even I have lost respect for him myself, but to complain about a stupid White American tradition being broken in favor of human equality and opportunity makes you seem racist.
What’s wrong with having a non-White president for once? Are you saying you aren’t in favor of a Hispanic, Asian, or any other non-White race as president? Jeez, you must be some Conservative/Republican living in the South where they teach you that White is right, and anything other is wrong. Choose your words wisely next time before blogging to avoid a future response like this.

Ummm… wow. I thought about not responding to this response so as to not to fan the flame, so to speak. But just so you’re aware, I definitely did not mean it to have racial connotations. I’m actually surprised that you saw it as such. It’s more of a reference to Canadian politics, the numerous presidential elections, and the tendency to want to oust the national leadership at every crisis….
FYI, I’m an Asian American Canadian who voted for Obama in the last election, and if you go back to my first post, it was actually about his inauguration ceremony. Also went to Martin Luther King Jr elementary…
well what ii think is that the gurl with tha long hair is better than dora. shes prettier
so what about the changes?
its obvious that things change evolve it you could say… just like us!
we dont look like how we were before! right? i dont see why youre upsetting yourself with a little matter like this!
havent you noticed that now days things revole around beauty? glamness? its just normal for creators to try to meet the needs of viewers… i mean if you were them and suddenly people were complaining about how dora needs a new llook or something wouldnt you try to meed their demands??
plus, no offense they DO look more appealing now
To “DeathPrincess”:
NOTHING about this post was racist until you brought it up…way to go for thinking everything is a race issue. You’re part of the problem in America. People like you sicken me. Not everything is about being a minority…and to bring politics into the conversation was just asinine. This blog is about two children’s characters getting an updated look…shame on you for contaminating it with hate (and yes, your post makes it seem like you hate white people…who’s the racist now?)
i prefer the new ones they´re a lot prettier and more fresh image
Yeah I <3 Dora!
You suck dora!!!!!!!!!!!
we all hate you we never loved you lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahha
Both of these new versions suck ass. Fuck that shit. The original Dora and Strawberry Shortcake rule. Fuckers.
