Terry is looking for two students able to work part-time on the Terry Student Team! Both positions start in early November 1 2007, with the employment period ending on March 30 2008.

Are you interested in helping us promote Terry? Are you energetic and enthusiastic about Terry’s mission? Are you creative and like the opportunity to work in teams? Do you like meeting new people and building networks and contacts? Then maybe you should work with Terry!

The Terry* Project is a joint initiative of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science. The objective of Terry is to promote education and awareness of global issues in a manner that integrates the physical and life sciences and social science and humanities. The project is coordinated by David Ng, Allen Sens, and Chad Hyson.

Successful applicants will be expected to attend Terry team meetings, provide assistance and support to the project coordinators, and have fun. Both positions are open to UBC undergraduate or graduate students. Working hours will average 5 hours per week initially, with an approximate workload of 10 hours per week during the second semester. The stipend for the work period will work out to be approximately $1500 (about $10 per hour, which could go higher if you also happen to be eligible for work study opportunities). Terry hopes to hire one student with a background in the social sciences and humanities and one student with a background in the physical and life sciences.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of application, a resume, and the names of three references to:

asens.at.politics.ubc.ca

The application deadline is November 2nd.
