Parody of “Most Beautiful Girl in the Room” by Flight of the Conchords
Filmed by PhD students in the Tetrad Graduate Program at UCSF for an annual departmental retreat.
Dave Semeniuk spends hours locked up in his office, thinking about the role the oceans play in controlling global climate, and unique ways of studying it. He'd also like to shamelessly plug his art practice: davidsemeniuk.com
haha, this is very hilarious. I saw it recently on one of my favourite blogs, The Intersection @ Discovery Magazine, where they noted that the video actually represents the work environment of many women in science (and other professions). I believe that women, whether they ask for it or not, often get unwanted attention that prevents them from being taken as seriously as equally qualified men. Do you agree? If so, how can women avoid objectification that keeps them from the success they deserve?
