UBC TRANSIT ACTION AT BROADWAY STATION

From their facebook group:

This is a joint SFU-UBC initiative to get students involved and informed about transit issues for the upcoming elections! There will be a municipal election on November 15 in all of the cities, so we need to let students know that they have a chance to vote for candidates for council and mayor that will work to improve the transit system.

You are invited to Broadway Skytrain Station to hand out leaflets and buttons to students, or stand with a banner or sign. If you think you might be too shy to approach students, we still want you there! The facebook event is here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=31707504308

Local media will be invited to see that students find transit to be an important student issue in the municipal election. The line ups at Broadway Station are out of control, so let’s demonstrate that to the
people who make the decisions. Students at SFU ar organizing a simultaneous action at Production Way station, and the Canadian Auto Workers (the union that represents bus drivers) are interested in helping out as well. The SFU event listing is here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=31271039711

Get involved with your university and help students have better access to affordable transit! Please come to this event and bring a friend!
