Margaret Atwood – 2008 Massey Lecturer – Oct 15th 8pm, Chan Centre

Also just found this out. Canada’s first lady of the word is going to be local in the upcoming weeks. Margaret Atwood herself, writer of many a fine piece of fiction, and many that look at the connections between the sciences and the arts will be delivering one of her Massey Lectures at UBC on Oct 15th.

This one isn’t free ($20 per ticket – I would be quick about getting them if you’re interested in going – the Massey Lectures are usually pretty fast sellers generally, and I’d imagine even more so with an individual like Ms. Atwood)

Anyway, I’m gonna be there. In some ways, some of her work is an inspiration for things like the Science Creative Literacy Symposia we have going in my lab.
