The Globe 2008 Student Sponsorship Program

Happy New Year to all! And to bring the new year in on a high note, check out the great opportunity offered by the Globe Foundation for students to attend the 2008 Globe Foundation conference, which has sessions on climate change, energy, sustainable finance, and better cities, among others.

Student Sponsorship program details

The GLOBE 2008 Student Sponsorship Program is open to full-time students enrolled in business, resource management, environment technologies, urban studies or similar courses to participate in the GLOBE 2008 International Conference and Trade Fair on the business of the environment. Selected students will receive a complimentary conference registration.

The conference will be an opportunity for students to learn about major policy developments in climate change, corporate sustainability and finance, energy and innovations in building sustainable cities. Students who are selected to participate will have access to all conference sessions, as well as to the trade fair, where leading companies will showcase their capabilities in environmental management and technology. Students will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation.

Eligibility

Students applying for a complimentary conference registration must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies at a university, college and technical institution in Canada at the time the application is submitted.

How to Apply

Send a one-page letter outlining how you would benefit from attending GLOBE 2008, including details on the course in which you are enrolled. The GLOBE Foundation will review all letters and select final candidates based on the quality of their application letter and the relevancy of the courses undertaken by applicants. Please send your letter electronically to jenny.lake@globe.ca. The closing date for letter submission is Friday, February 1, 2008.

Notification

Students who are selected for the program will be informed via e-mail by Friday, February 15, 2008.
