All The Entries Are In….

…and they all look fantastic!

Although this contest started out as a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants operation with only 3 weeks notice for the participants, we received nearly two dozen entries for Terry*’s inaugural Bake For A Change sustainable gingerbread house competition.

Your incorporated sustainable elements were very imaginative: from compost heaps to wind turbines, green roofs to rainwater re-use, solar-powered water heaters, LED Christmas lights to recycled tire construction materials.

Judging will occur over the next few weeks, and the winners will be notified by email. The results will be posted on Terry* by the end of the month, while all the entries can be viewed at our Flickr group (there is a small problem with the photostream that should be corrected soon: not all the photos are showing up as they should be)

We’ve received a lot of positive support from both online magazines, blogs, and all our participants. Therefore, we hope to make this flavourful competition an annual event. So next November, keep your eyes open, your rolling pin in hand, and a taste for a greener lifestyle in mind.

Thanks everyone! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me (Dave Semeniuk): bakeforachange@gmail.com
