Today is buy nothing day… (although you can still get some stuff because of it)

Here’s what wiki says about consumerism:

Consumerism is the equating of personal happiness with the purchasing of material possessions and consumption.

Just so you know, today (Nov 23rd) is a day-long moratorium (and called Buy Nothing Day) on consumer spending: a day to think about the impact that our consumerist tendencies have on people and places all over the world. There’s actually lots of things going on, and if you’re interested, your best bet is to beeline to the STUFF SWAP outside the SUB from 11am to 4pm. Afterall, one person’s junk, is another person’s treasure.
