When Monday October 19th comes around, how will you vote? Look beyond the labyrinth of lawn signs, put down those party fliers, and divert your gaze from those smiling faces that greet you at every street corner. And come take a look at what is truly at stake when it comes to charting the trajectory that this country will take for the next four years. The UBC Terry Project presents, with the UBC Alma Mater Society, #BARtalk 17: Federal Election edition, with a focus on local and domestic issues. From the housing crisis to the labour market, from childcare to transportation, and from pipelines to Aboriginal land titles, voting is not a popularity contest, it is informed and deliberate decision-making.

So join us on October 8th from 6:00 to 7:30pm at the Pit Put inside the new SUB. With a little help from professors in the UBC Department of Political Science and the Vancouver School of Economics, ask your questions, share your thoughts, and get informed.

About the panelists:

-Professor Maxwell Cameron, who directs the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions at UBC.

-Professor Kathryn Harrison, who studies environmental politics and is part of the group UBCC350.

-Professor David Green, who studies wages and labour in the Deptartment of Economics.
