Activities Extravaganza!

Make your mark. Make an impact. Make a memory.
UBC International Week is a focal point for international learning led by UBC students. With opportunities for interaction, reflection, and fun, the week is filled with global chats, international career and volunteer fairs, dance, drama, international films, displays, and delectable foods. Join the UBC International Week organizing team in an unforgettable and dynamic week of events!

I swear, UBC never has a shortage of events. Who has time to study? Check out the I-Week website, chock-full of stuff. You just might find that belly-dancing workshop irresistible. Hey I went to see an international costume fashion show today! Just speakers alone, we have several this week; all equally interesting. Here are the ones I would recommend trekking across campus for:

Sheila Watt-Cloutier – need I say more?
Charli Carpenter – Children Born of War: Protecting Children of Sexual Violence Survivors in Conflict Zones. A crude but eye-opening look at children born as a result of war – results of mass rape or sexual exploitation.
Samantha Nutt and Sunera Thobani – Global Chats speakers

Oh and the new south wing of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre MAIN LIBRARY (bite me) is open. Something entirely new and entirely devoted to study space, praise the Lord! Now you can feel free to leave the dungeons of Koerner and migrate there instead.
