No Excuses, No Regrets. The Desert & Mountains that Changed My Life: Chris Dare at TEDxTerryTalks2013

Chris Dare talks about challenging yourself to achieve your dreams and have new experiences. As an avid mountaineer hoping to climb the highest peak on each continent, a long distance runner, a scuba instructor, a skydiver as well as a full-time dentistry student, Chris has managed to achieve a lot while maintaining his other commitments. With his simple set of “rules for life,” Chris hopes to inspire others to strive toward achieving their goals.

Chris Dare is a third year dentistry student at UBC, and has served in Afghanistan with the Canadian Forces. In his current goal of climbing the highest mountain on each continent, he has so far managed to complete five mountains out of seven, and hopes to climb Mt. Everest in 2016.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
