The Hidden Life Within

This post is a bit late, but unfortunately I only recently came across Giuseppe Penone. This  past winter, Penone’s “the Hidden Life Within” was exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario. By carefully carving away past rings, his work brings forth the “sapling within.”

“My artwork shows, with the language of sculpture, the essence of matter and tries to reveal with the work, the hidden life within.”- Giuseppe Penone
