Kierscey Regozo (guitarist), me, K’NAAN
It was a few hours after the K’NAAN talk/performance/conversation, and fighting the temptation of a 6pm bedtime, I sat down to begin typing up a short think piece in turn for missing my discussion of my War and Ethics course to [...]

A few months ago I was watching The Hour’s George Strombolopolous interview Canadian-Somalian recording artist (and soon-to-be Terry Global Speaker Series-speaker) K’naan, whose hit song ‘Wavin Flag’ had begun enjoying a period of enormous popularity. Originally featured on his 2009 album Troubadour, by the time of the interview the song had topped the charts [...]

Ode to Terra Firma
I’ve been back on land for over two weeks now and I have to honestly say I’ve never been happier to be home! I guess deep down, I really am a true landlubber. The unpredictable and isolated life of a seafaring scientist is just not for me! It’s not that I [...]

I always get a little excited at the beginning of a new school year (even if I’m also getting itchy graduation feet this time around….). So much to do, so many clubs to join, a little upcoming talk by someone named K’NAAN. (No big deal).
Here’s one more really [...]
