Job Opportunity: Social Entrepreneurship Experience

The Social Entrepreneurship Experience (SEE) was created to connect individuals passionate about addressing social issues, to educate them on social entrepreneurship, to inspire ideas, and to introduce them to active social entrepreneurs in Vancouver. SEE is meant to be a conversation starter and become a gateway for individuals looking to discover how a business can sustainably address a social need. Last year’s conference included 5 speakers, and over 20 business professionals who were matched with 3 or 4 attendees based on shared interests. During the conference, groups of attendees were challenged to create a preliminary business plan to address a social need.

We are looking to hire 7 individuals, including 2 co-chairs to manage the conference and lead a team of 5 directors, including a marketing director, plenary, knowledge and insights director, finance and logistics director, and events coordinator. We’re looking for creative individuals who are looking to push the structures established by traditional student conferences. It is essential that candidates identify with the conference’s core mission, and we’re looking for individuals who are extremely passionate for exploring social entrepreneurship or are quite knowledgeable about it. All candidates need to be driven and able to work in an unstructured environment, and given the small team nature, will need to work well with others. The exciting part is that each of the 7 will be able to contribute to the vision and have a say in what this year’s conference will look like. Undergraduate students from any university or college in Vancouver are welcome to apply.
