FYI, I’m thinking of a number – which corresponds to the comment number for this post that will win a free book.

Oh, and I thought the olympics were a lot of fun, although I just about had a heart attack when US tied with 24 seconds left to go.

I was one of those people who totally caught Olympic fever though I didn’t think I would. I miss the Olympics now, if only because they brought awesome free shows with them, and because they put most everybody on the streets of Vancouver in a good mood.
I wonder how downtown Vancouver will be during the Paralympics? I know a few downtown things are staying open, I’ll definitely head down and check them out. Hope the vibe is the same.

I’m the opposite of Camille; I avoided Olympic venues as much as I could–the closest I came was Richmond Centre.

Although I support the atheletes (though, not necessarily their spending/funding…), I can’t bring myself to support the Olympics. With so many other problems in this world, why must we spend so much on the unnecessary?

Well, I wrote up my thoughts on the Olympics on my own blog: http://posthegemony.blogspot.com/2010/03/celebration.html
