From my own research as a technical author I thought your summary of the IPCC was very fair. The trouble is that the agenda is being muddied by fanaticism on both sides.

After thousands of hours research-for a possible book but certainly for an article-the proof of carbon as the AGW cuplrit seems very thin. Our impact on temp has been minimal (setting aside the quite different questions of poluution etc) History shows we have been this way many times before-indeed near my home in Southern England we have an excellent record of the past 5000 years of climate change in the form of Bronze age dwellings and medieval farmsteads-all abandoned when the climate cooled.

This 'historic' element seems to get thrown away in favour of highly theoretical computer modelling which can't even take into account the effect of the sun and clouds.

I have come to the reluctant conclusion that much of this is some sort of game played out by scientists who enjoy the intellectual cut and thrust and will compile all sorts of calculations in order to defend their 'theory.'

I am not any sort of conspiracy theorist but our govt is using the 'proof' of the fourth asessment to bring in additional 'green' taxes and are threatening is with the worlds first 'carbon credit' card.

The worlds economy is far too fragile to undermine it by bringing in unecessary restrictions and regulations-again poluttion and waste etc are different issues.

I am looking for two or thre fair minded people to read my article prior to publication to check the science and analogies, and wonder if you could spare twenty minutes to do so?
Thank you

A “Global Warming for Dumbbells” QUIZ

·	- During the past 100 years, how much has the earth’s temperature increased?
Answer: During the past 100 years there has been O.6-degree centigrade increase in temperature.

·	- During the past 10 years (1998 to 2008), how much has the earth’s temperature increased?
Answer: The earth’s temperature increased 0 degrees in the past 10 years.

·	- During the next 10 years (2008 to 2018), how much will the earth’s temperature increase?
Answer: The UN’s committee on climate, the IPCC, announced the earth’s temperature would increase 0 degrees in the next ten years. Is this a global warming trend?

·	– Do CO2 increases precede or follow temperature increases?
Answer: Science magazine reported that CO2 increases FOLLOWED temperature increases by 400 to1000 years during all three glacial interglacial transitions on record. Because CO2 increases FOLLOW temperature increases, the global warming alarmists are wrong in blaming CO2 for world temperature increases.

·	- Has the earth’s temperature been higher than it is now?
Answer: Yes. The earth’s temperature has been higher than it is now in each of the three previous interglacial transition periods.

·	Has the earth’s temperature been lower than it is now?
Answer: Yes. During each of the ice ages, the temperature was lower than now. Currently we are in an interglacial transition period and are still recovering from the last ice age. The current warming trend started around 1800, long before mankind released significant amounts of CO2.

·	– Has the CO2 level ever been higher than it is now?
Answer: Yes, long before mankind was adding much CO2, there were periods when the CO2 level was much higher than now.

·	10. – Are the 32,000 scientists who questioned the “global warming consensus” of value?
Answer: Yes. Many global warming alarmists (as well as many IPCC members) are no more qualified than Al Gore to evaluate the science that challenges the global warming alarmist viewpoint. The 32,000 signing the petition have degrees in some field of science, and 9,000 have doctorates. Many members of the IPCC don’t even have a degree in any science. UN members select representatives from their country to be on the IPCC. Many UN members don’t have citizens who are qualified to analyze the scientific data from which the IPCC reports are formed.
